We accept submissions once a year for our print and digital issues, and we’d love to have a peek at your brilliant work. While submissions are currently closed, you can subscribe to our FREE Clubhouse for an open mic directory, job opportunities, and discounted services 👀.

How to submit:

We accept submissions via email during our open call periods. Send your submissions to kcbthemag@gmail.com with a 3-4 sentence bio and your social media handles. NO COVER LETTER REQUIRED (who wants to read or write those?).

What we accept:

Let’s get specific! We accept one short memoir under 3,000 words, three flash fiction pieces under 1,000 words each, and up to five poems, pieces of artwork, or videos per submitter. Videos must be uploaded on YouTube, and artwork needs to be A5-sized.

For our newspaper, we’re looking for exclusive interviews, honest reviews, and short memoirs. You can gain exclusive access to our newspaper through our Clubhouse.

We DO NOT tolerate hate speech of any kind and we ask that you send your work with any relevant trigger warnings upfront.

We're also open to previously published work, as long as it fits the theme of the issue.

Who can submit:

We accept creative work from all storytellers and artists! You don’t need to be previously published to submit to us; if you have a story to tell, we want to read it!

When to submit:

The theme for Issue 005 will be announced in 2025 and submissions are set to open in the winter.

If your work is selected, we'll send you a victory dance-inducing email from kcbthemag@gmail.com—and here’s the best part: If we feature your work in the magazine, we might use it for some of our awesome merch (with your permission, of course!).
