Daily Bread 🍷

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

Save me from myself.

I made a mess again.

I think this is the end.

These blank walls

and glass ceilings

Are finally closing in.

And I can’t win.

So, I might sin.

Might have to lose myself again.

Or triple sneeze,

Into my sleeve,

And catch a sliver of Your hem.

On bended pages,

Twisted spines,

Read somewhere in between the lines.

Run my palms across your Psalms,

Wrinkled pages, teary eyes.

I love God.

I love Jesus Christ.

And I’m not afraid to say it.

I won’t tell you what to think,

or who to love,

I just relay it.

Then replay it,

And resay it,

close my eyes

and call it prayer.

No, I’ve never seen His face,

but yes, I know the demon slayer

He’s my Savior.

My Protector.

Golden Shield and my reflector.

When I’m wrong, He’s my Acceptor.

And when I’m RIGHT, He’s my Corrector

I’m sorry I’m human.

I’m just going to say that upfront.

Because I preach my love for Jesus,

Then I roll the perfect blunt.

I press pause,

Between my lips,

Seal it with the perfect kiss,

Face-to-face,

With my faith,

And exhale the perfect bliss.

This is what I call warship….

That space between Heaven’s Gates

and that rock-bottom, floor shit.

Red Letters in smoke,

Temptation in cursive.

I reverse all my curses

When I deliver my verses.

So give us this day,

Our Daily Bread,

And let us quench our thirst

Until our hands are red.

And lead us through our Revelations,

As You deliver us from evil.

AMEN.
